It was nice to work with people who have good taste and appreciate good design.” Alicia offered something fresh and new compared with other office design experts. She was excited by the design brief: to create somewhere cool for the team to work and relax, not just to impress visitors (although that too). ![screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-47-48_orig](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-47-48_orig.png?width=954&height=1426&name=screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-47-48_orig.png) “This was my biggest office interior design project yet, and definitely the most exciting.” ![screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-46-05_orig](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-46-05_orig.png?width=1100&height=731&name=screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-46-05_orig.png) Her greatest challenge was transforming the dark, L-shaped basement. The team use this space for lots of things – a place to prepare food and eat lunch together, but also hold meetings, run company social events (think movie nights and computer gaming competitions), and host local meetups for up 40 people. We went for a natural, organic theme, with smooth wood, clean lines and Scandinavian furniture. With a statement light fitting and spotlights to brighten up dark corners, the space now feels light and airy. There’s room for a large group to chat over lunch around a big table (something of a Cambridge Intelligence tradition), but also smaller tables for quiet times. ![fullsizeoutput-18f0_orig](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/fullsizeoutput-18f0_orig.jpeg?width=1100&height=733&name=fullsizeoutput-18f0_orig.jpeg) Extra seating is cleverly stowed away in a storage wall, but the biggest focal point is our moss wall. Inspired by vertical gardens, we’ve brought the outside in with a maintenance-free living green panel. ![screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-48-37_orig](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-48-37_orig.png?width=1100&height=730&name=screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-48-37_orig.png) The office facelift didn’t stop there. Separating reception from the team working areas with large glass panels helps waiting visitors feel welcome but not isolated. It also gives the team a little privacy without losing light. The other floors benefited from the design treatment too. There are more natural tones in desk areas, and clever pops of colour in comfy, relaxing breakout spaces. We can take time out on a sofa when we feel the need. ![screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-48-52_orig](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-48-52_orig.png?width=1100&height=734&name=screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-48-52_orig.png) Alicia is also a talented artist, so we commissioned her artwork too. We have unique pieces throughout the building, cleverly inspired by the data visualizations our award-winning KeyLines SDK is famous for. “The large canvasses were a colorful and creative way to say something about what Cambridge Intelligence do.” Blog written by Cambridge Intelligence [https://cambridge-intelligence.com/weve-had-a-facelift/](https://cambridge-intelligence.com/weve-had-a-facelift/) #### Leave a comment #### Related Posts [![aruct](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/hubfs/uk-interior-design-1000px_orig.png)](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/blog/az-interiors-top-50-uk-interior-design-blogs-winners) - May 20 2024 - Alicia Zimnickas #### [AZ INTERIORS - Top 50 UK Interior Design Blogs Winners](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/blog/az-interiors-top-50-uk-interior-design-blogs-winners) [![aruct](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/hubfs/cambridge-alicja-12-web_orig-1.jpg)](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/blog/az-interiors-interior-designers-in-cambridge-awarded-best-of-houzz-for-design-and-service-in-2019) - May 20 2024 - Alicia Zimnickas #### [AZ INTERIORS, interior designers in Cambridge awarded "BEST OF HOUZZ" for DESIGN and SERVICE in 2019](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/blog/az-interiors-interior-designers-in-cambridge-awarded-best-of-houzz-for-design-and-service-in-2019) [![aruct](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/hubfs/img-9660_orig.jpg)](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/blog/interior-design-at-home-consultation-by-az-interiors) - May 20 2024 - Alicia Zimnickas #### [At Home Interior Design Consultation by AZ INTERIORS](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/blog/interior-design-at-home-consultation-by-az-interiors) #### Quick Links - [Home](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk) - [Interior Design](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/interior-design-old) - [Portfolio](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/portfolio-prev) - [Courses](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/courses) - [Art](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/art) - [Contact](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/contact) #### Interior Design - [Interior Design Services](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/interior-design-services-old) - [At Home Consultation](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/at-home-interior-design-consultancy) - [Online Consultation](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/online-consultation) - [Bespoke Curtains and Blinds](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/bespoke-curtains-and-blinds) - [Testimonials](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/testimonials) [![new logo2](https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/new%20logo2.png?width=185&height=146&name=new%20logo2.png "new logo2")](https://144483749.hs-sites-eu1.com/) #### Contact Information - Cambridge, UK - 07963175508 - [studio@az-interiors.co.uk](mailto:studio@az-interiors.co.uk) #### Newsletter Subscribe © 2026, AZ INTERIORS | Interior Designers Cambridge ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "BlogPosting", "author" : { "@type" : "Person", "name" : "Alicia Zimnickas", "url" : "https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/blog/author/alicia-zimnickas" }, "dateModified" : "2024-05-20T14:43:47.764Z", "datePublished" : "2024-05-20T14:43:25.000Z", "headline" : "Office space interior design for Cambridge Intelligence", "image" : [ "https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/hubfs/screen-shot-2018-09-14-at-18-47-34_orig.png" ], "mainEntityOfPage" : { "@id" : "https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/blog/office-space-interior-design-for-cambridge-intelligence", "@type" : "WebPage" }, "publisher" : { "@type" : "Organization", "logo" : { "@type" : "ImageObject", "url" : "https://www.az-interiors.co.uk/hubfs/21-2.png" } } } ```
