Contemporary landscape paintings by Alicia Zimnickas
Nature, landscape and light have always been Alicia’s primary inspirations, in both her daily life and her work. Creativity is her driving force, with painting and interior design playing vital – frequently complementary – roles in her artistic expression. Her skilled – and utterly unique – use of light has led to her creating her own painting technique. She searches for peace, silence and bold simplicity in her artworks, concentrating on the essential in both her contemporary landscapes and fragmented nature compositions – an approach which also informs her interior designs. Alicia finds inspiration in the most natural, simple things – leaves, trees, light and water – which find expression in her interiors as well as her art. She paints on canvas in both oil and acrylic. She works from her studio in Cambridge, and will periodically release series’ of original acrylic and oil paintings.

Exhibitions and art collections
Alicia Zimnickas began exhibiting her paintings in the early 1990s and has shown her art in numerous countries including Canada, UK, France, Sweden, Poland and Lithuania. Her paintings can be found throughout the world in private collections, prestigious hotels (including the Marriott and the Hilton), and on the walls of various companies, such as Novartis, Deloitte, Mastercard, Allianz, Cambridge Intelligence, the Lithuanian Embassy in Poland and the Presidential Palace in Lithuania.
With collectors ranging from the President of Lithuania to Novartis, MasterCard and Addenbrookes hospital, Lithuanian-born Alicia Zimnickas is a Cambridge based artist with a prestigious international following.

Nature, light and the seasons intrigue me as a painter. I’m continually studying light, and how it affects mood, colour and shape. Certain encounters with the natural world make a vivid impression on me, and this is where the pictures begin.
